Fishing Rules And Regulations
No Fishing is allowed in Heisler Park, a State Marine Reserve and official "No-Take" zone. The rest of Laguna Beach is a State Marine Conservation Area and only the following may be taken:
• Lobster (seasonal) Corbina
• Turbot
• White Seabass
• Sanddab
• Opaleye
• Rockfish (Scorpaenidae)
• Halfmoon
• Greenling
• Surfperch (Embiotocidae)
• Cabezon
• Blacksmith
• Lingcod
• Barracuda
• Yellowtail
• California Sheephead
• Mackerel
• Barracuda
• Kelp Bass
• California Halibut
• Bluefin Tuna
• Sole
• Croaker
• Spotted Sand Bass
• Sargo
• Queenfish
All other species are prohibited to take. If it is not listed above, you cannot have it in your possession! No marine aquatic plants may be taken and no species listed above may be taken from within the intertidal zone.

All State Fish and Game rules and regulations are enforced when fishing within the city limits. A valid saltwater fishing license MUST be displayed at all times when fishing (including spear fishing when diving). For more information contact Fish and Game or your local sporting good store.
